Converting Your Whip Mix, Denar or Hanau Articulator to Magnetic Mounting

Screw retention has been the preferred method of retaining mounting plates to articulators for many years. However, the latest versions of articulators are coming out with magnetic retention. This method saves time when working with the articulator and allows the user to move cases freely in and out of the individual instrument.

2240 Left Grey_2The Whip Mix articulators may be permanently converted to magnetic mounting plates using the Quick Mount magnetic conversion kits for specific articulators. These kits are also used for the permanent conversion of the Hanau™ Wide View series, the Hanau™ Modular Series and even Denar® Articulators (with the exception of the 300 series).

If you are interested in quickly converting your dental articulators, then you would use the DENAR Magnetic Mounting System for the specific articulator. This system consists of a magnetic converter plate and a disposable mounting plate.

The magnetic converter simply screws onto the articulator in place of the normal screw mounting plate. A disposable mounting plate is attached using the magnet in the converter. You would then mount the casts in a normal fashion. The casts – when the mounting is set – are now removable and replaceable without threading and unthreading the mounting plate.

Listed below are the parts necessary for each of the systems.
