The Transition to Digital: Partnering for Success
Speaker: Dr. John Cranham & Lee Culp, CDT

Digital dentistry is moving at warp speed. While some dentists have embraced these changes, the vast majority of dentists are still wondering if the new technologies are as good as the tried and true analog methods, and if the expense is worth it. This program is designed to look at the various digital technologies, discuss their accuracy, cost and the return on the investment. Special emphasis will be placed on how the workflows in restorative, orthodontic and implant dentistry, can increase the predictability, efficiency and profitability of any practice. Most importantly these workflows will be viewed through the prism of obtaining optimum esthetic and occlusal outcomes, WITHOUT compromise.

Until recently, it was impossible to fully visualize many occlusal problems in a digital world. Now, however, mounting on a virtual articulator to do a diagnostic wax-up, assess a CR-MI slide, move teeth into a more stable relationship, design an occlusally correct orthotic, or perform a trial equilibration, is not only possible, it can be done with far greater efficiency, accuracy, and predictability.

You will learn:

  • How John and Lee work together, communicating at the highest level, to create optimum outcomes with increased predictability and profitability.
  • How mounting on a virtual articular can be down in MINUTES with less error, and how this can be done in the office or working with a partnering lab.
  • How the timeless principles of occlusion and esthetics are used in a digital environment, to plan and create restorative excellence.
  • How digital designs can be merged with CBCT data to plan simple and extremely complex implant treatment, for optimum results.
  • Why the Stone Age of dentistry is DEAD!!

I look forward to the Whip Mix Digital Forum every year. It is a great couple of days to catch up with old friends and to compare how others are incorporating the digital influence in their labs. Whip Mix always has a great panel of speakers that cover a wide range of relevant topics. I would put their hospitality up against anyone in the industry and cannot wait for the 2022 meeting.

I have attended the Whip Mix Digital Forum for the past couple of years and plan to do so again. The Forum supplies knowledgeable speakers as well as a variety of interesting topics. You also have access to the Whip Mix technical support and speaker support after attending. Best of all, the hospitality of Whip Mix is top notch.

Even though our lab has been scanning and milling for years, I chose to attend the Whip Mix Digital Forum because you can never have enough information on digital products and techniques. The tips and techniques I learned at Whip Mix’s Forum were put to use immediately when I got back to our lab. In addition, it was an outstanding networking opportunity. The networking I did there is still helpful to me and our lab today.

This was the first Digital Forum that we attended. It was a very informative gathering. It definitely was not a sales pitch but we appreciated everyone sharing what brand and products they were using to achieve the final product. Everyone was very friendly and helpful and the hospitality was outstanding!! Getting to meet people from around the country was fun and we might even be able to network with each other and support one another, too.

I have attended many conferences in the past year and the Whip Mix Forum was one of my favorites. The attention to detail given to every aspect of this meeting went above and beyond my expectations. The technicians, doctors, vendors and the Whip Mix staff showed their appreciation by investing their time and attention in learning from each other. It was an amazing setting for all to come together and hear about the future of digital dentistry.
